We are pleased to invite Civil Engineering students from Hanyang University to participate in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Bridge Design Competition (BDC) 2021. NTU BDC is an international competition that focuses on structural design, where engineering students can gain hands-on and practical structural design experience relevant to the industry. Since its inception in 2014, NTU BDC has been a huge success, attracting students from almost all Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) in Singapore, as well as tertiary students from regional countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia.

This year, the competition is going virtual! NTU BDC 2021 is a two-round technical case competition that simulates the tendering process in the construction sector. In the Preliminary Round, student teams from local and overseas polytechnics and universities are invited to design a virtual bridge model in accordance with technical specifications stated in the case. Following which, the top 10 teams will be shortlisted to compete in the Final Round, where teams are also required to prepare a technical proposal and a presentation to describe their proposed construction methodology based on the site constraints presented in the case. The technical case competition will be held from 1st March 2021 to 3rd April 2021, and up to SGD 3,000 worth of cash prizes are up for grabs! More details about the competition timeline and format can be found in the attached Registration Kit.
