Kim Sun-jeong, a professor of electrical and biological engineering at Hanyang University, was selected as the winner of the "2021 Paiknam Academy of Sciences Award". This is the 9th winner in academy's history. The awards ceremony was held on May 14th at the 82nd anniversary of the school's opening.

The Paiknam Academy Award was established to honor Dr. Kim Young-joon (1914-2008) who founded Hanyang University with the spirit of "Love in Deed and Truth" and who devoted himself to education. This award is given as a gift to scholars who have made outstanding achievements in education and research.

Meanwhile, Professor Kim Sun-jeong is a leading researcher at Hanyang University, who studies biotechnology, nanotechnology, and artificial muscles, and he has published numerous papers in world-renowned academic journals. He was selected as the "Researcher of the Month" in 2017, won the Innovation Award at CES in 2018, and received the HYU Academic Award in 2021.
