Hanyang University and LG Display signed a contract for a next-generation display master's degree and Ph. D. talents. Following this agreement, Hanyang University newly establishes the 'Department of Display Convergence Engineering' at graduate school and start cultivating human resources for display specialization together with LG Display.
At the agreement ceremony held at Seoul Campus, Seongdong-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 19th, relevant people took place including Yoon Su-yeong, a CTO of LG Display, and Lee Ju, Dean of Hanyang University College of Engineering.
Following this agreement, Hanyang University establishes the Department of Display Convergence Engineering at the General Graduate School and selects students with seven Master's degrees and three Ph. D. degrees. Students will be trained in a customized curriculum that Hanyang University and LG Display co-developed and will be nurtured as display specialists equipped with display-related special knowledge and field qualities.
The chosen students will be granted whole support of tuition fees and academic support from the university and LG Display and will work for LG Display after graduation.
Lee Ju, dean of the College of Engineering, said, "It is a pleasure to establish a display-related department which is one of three electric parts of the 21st century, including semiconductors and batteries. With LG Display, we will cultivate the best display talents that can help Korea's display industry."
