February 10th article, "LetinAR, 'Smart Glass', AR Vivid with Mirror Mechanism".

LetinAR was founded in 2016 by CEO Kim Jae-hyeok (Department of Industrial Engineering, class of 2013) and Chief Technology Officer Ha Jeong-hun (CTO) while attending Hanyang University, and LetinAR¡¯s product "Smart Glass" is an augmented reality (AR) device using "PinTILT" technology. It is a technology that adds a virtual image to an object or environment that actually exists and shows it as if it actually exists.

While pre-existing AR-implemented products use sensors, LetinAR introduce pinMR, which attracted attention. The pinhole effect, an effect where an object can be observed clearly when it is observed through a tiny hole, was applied to AR, and a fine mirror "pinMR" was inserted into the lens of the glasses so that the content could be enjoyed without ones recognizing it as a mirror.

Last year, LetinAR won the CES Innovation Award for the second consecutive year by applying plastic materials to lenses to lower the product¡¯s weight last year and improving the performance such as resolution and usage time this year. CEO Kim said, "The ultimate development goal is to make a product where a dot-shaped mirror can¡¯t be seen from the outside."

CEO Kim Jae-hyeok introduced, "Light efficiency can be increased in that mirrors are the structures that transfer light, not sensors." In addition, CEO Kim stressed, "By next year, we will be able to see LetinAR AR glass in special fields such as medical and military." Finally, CEO Kim expressed his ambition, saying, "There are many workers moving abroad, but I want to drive the domestic manufacturing industry again, which is known to be in its decline."
